I'm a 71 yr.old musician from Bolton Ontario who would appreciate having the opportunity to practice 2 or 3 times a week on an upright or grand piano. I too play The American Songbook and my husband plays jazz guitar and we both love latin Jazz. The last time my wife and I were in Ajijic (Feb. 2020) we attended a theatre production of My Fair Lady and there was a "little older than me" woman whom I chatted with while she was playing American Songbook standards in the lobby. Might that woman have been you? Small world if it was! If not I'm sure you probably know who it was. Your Knabe piano sounds great! At home I play on a 1919 Bechstein grand I had totally reconditioned but for the past few months I've been rehearsing with a quartet on a high end electric with some nice Rhodes sounds. The venue we're giving a concert at on Jan. 20 (poster below) doesn't have an acoustic piano. I'm the smallest guy in the poster pic and couldn't get anyone to help me shlep my Bechstein BTW, playing music was never my primary source of income but I've gigged a fair bit over the years. Not sure how to private message without first receiving an email address. she sent me an email last evening saying would get in touch if you want to pm, got to top right this page, click on the black envelope, and say you want to send a new message enter "Dogdaze" where it asks for recipient. I am delighted we could connect and I am the lady of a certain age who was playing at the theater 😀 I injured my arm in a fall 2 days ago and may have broken it So I won't be playing untill who knows when.
