A little far to go for a pie when you live in Ajijic..

Good grief!

We have to drive through SAT, Walmart, La Floresta, and Ajijic traffic to get to many things we like or need to do. We don't whinge and whine, we just get in the car and enjoy the scenery.

The "village" isn't the end all and be all of life lakeside, thank gawd.

That is a bit far to go for a pie, thanks for the suggestion though.

Does Panino sell whole pies to go?

Apple, cherry, peach, blackberry, any quality whole fruit pie carry outs.

They would, I'm sure, but rather spendy.

Their fresh strawberry pie is to die for.

Colibri Garden offers all you asked about save for peach.

Call them 376 766 3822 and ask.  They do catering as well as the restaurant and I am not sure what they actually make. We have ordered strawberry pies from them in the past.

It is a long walk, though. And a spendy taxi ride. We don't all have cars.

Update on the pie.  Went to Colibri Garden, bought a cherry pie, 280 pesos.   Good part:  Tasty crust.  Bad part:  Way too much crust and not enough filling, very thin on actual cherries.  For close to $15 U.S. we were not impressed.

Seems to be a very common failing with commercial pies.  Costco does better IMHO.

Do miss the apple pies Costco use to sell with the crumble topping.
