Description

WRITE YOUR MEMOIRS FOR FAMILY, FRIENDS & THE WORLD

Get started writing your memoirs. Share your knowledge and wisdom by writing about your exciting life here in Mexico, your travels, your children and grandchildren, and any other personal topic of interest to you. Create your legacy through the story of your life through this series of four sessions that bring together a small group of new authors. You will learn in a fun, relaxed, and supportive atmosphere (no negative critiquing allowed); learn the discipline to write on a regular basis in order to finish your memoir and discover tips professionals use to get started and keep writing in the face of writer's block or lack of inspiration.

Please reserve your place in advance and bring writing implements (a laptop computer or pen and paper).

About our instructor.

Doris Gallan is a creative writing teacher, coach, and author.

Doris has helped six new authors write their books and get published. She has traveled around the world—7 continents (including Antarctica!) and 58 countries. She has taught business courses at a university in Viet Nam, creative writing classes in Ecuador and Mexico, and online English as a Foreign Language to students around the world.

Doris published “The Boomers’ Guide to Going Abroad” (2011, updated edition in 2019, online only). She is working on a humor-filled memoir reminiscing about her life as a vagabond as well as a novel set in 1840s Argentina. Her memoir-writing workshops and classes combine learning with fun and provide students with abundant opportunities to start writing their stories through in-class exercises.
