Description WHAT’S YOUR STORY? Share your stirring stories about your travels, your move to Mexico, your family, your career/work, and your hobbies. Write your legacy in the form of memoirs to pass on your stories to your family, friends, and—if you wish—the world. You will start writing your memoir in this two-hour workshop that will show you where to start your story (usually not at the beginning!); how to write a brief outline to figure out the best order of your stories; learn discipline in writing to ensure you’ll finish your book; and pick up many tips on finding inspiration, getting organized, and overcoming some of the challenges of writing. Author, teacher, and writing coach Doris Gallan provides a safe and creative space to write your stories through fun exercises completed during this two-hour workshop. Attendees are asked to bring writing instruments: a laptop computer or pen and paper. About our instructor. Doris Gallan is a creative writing teacher, coach, and author. Doris has helped six new authors write their books and get published. She has traveled around the world—7 continents (including Antarctica!) and 58 countries. She is working on a humor-filled memoir reminiscing about her life as a vagabond as well as a novel set in 1840s Argentina. Her memoir-writing workshops and classes combine learning with fun and provide students with abundant opportunities to start writing their stories through in-class exercises.INNYT
