Halfglass
Question, with the revised FMM regulations, what needs to be done when crossing into the US from Mexico? In the past we had to stop at the immigration station at milepost 21K. We are planning to travel to Phoenix later this month by car. Anyone have a new experience to share? chapalence
We did nothing and came home just fine. We crossed both directions on foot.
ibarra
If you are in a vehicle, they check your passport before actually entering the U.S.. They may choose to look in your trunk also.
tomgates
INM is not present leaving Mexico or entering Mexico by car. This is for Mexican plated cars.
oasiscloud
We are permanente, exited Mexico in a Mexican plated car late September and reentered last week. No check of our permanente card or passport by INM at any point. We did get a red light entering on Laredo bridge #2. They opened and just glanced into 2 small suitcases that were at the very back of our SUV. We had tons of other stuff, but that is all they looked at and waved us on. Took at most 5 min. There wasn't anyone in the booth at 20km, so we just drove on.
Mainecoons
On this return trip the Mexican side took a short look at the stuff we were bringing back and our receipts. They did not even look at our permanentes. Always when going from Mexico to U.S. they check the passports and take a cursory look in the car. Santa Teresa was awesome on this trip, less than 10 minutes from the time we arrived at the checkpoint to when we were on our way.
oasiscloud
We crossed at Santa Teresa on the way up as well. One car in front. Probably there about 5 min. I haven't driven that was in about 15 years and it was sure different driving through El Paso. It has really expanded on the West side.
