Cincy
I plan on flying to Texas next week with 4 bottles of Tequila as gifts. 1 bottle is duty-free and the other 3 must be declared for import-tax. Has anyone been through this scenario at Customs & Border Control and paid the required duty and was it an easy process?
artsnob
The tax is very high, experience from a friend who did it a month ago, it would have been cheaper to buy it in USA..
pappysmarket
The process is easy, "How much liquor do you have?". Texas has a set rate based on the volume and proof of the liquor. Yeah, it's not cheap. Walking back into Texas from Progreso, Mexico there is a separate booth for anyone carrying liquor. Quick and easy...but not cheap.
