InChapala1
I'm aware that if I fire a gardener, I'm required to pay severance pay. What about if I cut my gardener's hours in half because, well, I'm doing half the work anyway. I still need him for some of the heavy work. Anything I owe him besides informing him? sm1mex
Not the answer of your question but do you need a gardener to do everything or most of the garden work you need?
ibarra
We went through that same situation a few years ago. Our gardener said he needed to work those hours and quit. Technically, because he quit, we didn't owe him severance. We paid some compensation to him because we wanted to and then hired another person part time.
