Wilson
Has anyone looked into Telmex Fiberoptic service? Understand theft of copper cable has become a problem causing some outages.

Go to Telmex and ask if it is available for you, or better yet, check TotalPlay. All those who have either Telmex or TotalPlay fiber report it is far superior with far fewer problems than regular Telmex. 3
LT56NY
If you can get TotalPlay I would highly recommend it. As soon as it became available where I live we switched. It is far, far superior to Telmex. If it goes down it is for a very short period and very rarely. The speed is faster and the rates are comparable. I would never use Telmex again. They are awful.

johanson
Yes, my Telmex internet is down again in upper Ajijic. I just got a text message on my cell phone saying they knew about the outage and were working to fix it. I'm sure glad I have the local cable company as an internet backup. Mainecoons
Telmex is down so much these days we probably should pin this thread.  😒
MtnMama
In addition to Telmex, I also have a Telcel Internet plan that I am very pleased with. Very rarely down, and includes a "land line" for under 400 pesos.
happyjillin
16 years with Telmex for puter and landline and hardly ever crashed and that was mainly because of a CFE problem when it did happen.
