gringohombre
Just a few days ago I had an emergency myself. The tiny, tiny screw holding one end of the frame to the lens came out and was lost. So my glasses had only one lens intact. I had gone to Dr. Pinto in Riberas for these types of situations before but unfortunately he is no longer there. I had seen the eyeglass shop at the end of the little strip mall just East of Telmex so went there. 2 minutes later I was out of there, with new screw and glasses repaired for 50 pesos!!!
happyjillin
It pays to salvage anything useful off of old frames like those screws and to have a set of jewelers screw drivers. Just attached new temples I got on A MX on old frame myself.

You got lucky and that it wasn't RX lenses you needed from them.

I would not trust anything to do with my eyes to anyone other than Dra. Claudia of the EyeCenter above Immigration in Chapala. Very successful cataract surgery both eyes (at thier surgery center in Guad.) She has all the latest testing equipment at the Chapala office and the post operation RX lenses are working great after about 5 years now!!! Lexy
Al--You should try the place where Pinta used to be in Riberas. They make frames so they should be able to repair yours. Lexy
