Mainecoons
I'm looking for a stock off white (antique white) paint, semigloss in either Prisa, Berel or Comex. Do any of the local paint stores have this or do they have to mix everything? Trying to avoid a trip to Home Depot. Antique white is a slight off white to the yellow/tan direction as opposed to the grey direction. Thanks!
ibarra
All of the stores that you listed have paint samples available. We have had Comex mix paint on several occasions by taking them a paint sample. Sometimes it takes more than one try to get the formula right, but, in the end, we have always been happy with the results. If you have a little bit of paint left, take them that to use. We use Comex in Chapala as we have not had very good service by Telmex in Ajijic.

They carry those in Home Depot, hoping to find a paint store here that also has some stock colors. That way I don't have to worry about matching when touching up. Agree with your comment about the Comex next to TelMex. Unfriendly and unhelpful.

I speak as a professional antique restorer and folk art furniture maker.
Mitch
I don't think you will find stock color as you describe. The color code should be written on your can after they custom mix. happyjillin is right about the Comex store on Madero.
happyjillin
By the way,I use flat latex, lightly brush with fine steel wool except more where there would be natural wear and apply Bri-wax light brown and buff with a clean cloth.
