Rich Neel
Good Morning. I am aware that SandS auto is the most preferred car sales in the Lake Chapala area and have reached out to them. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with Preowned Sanchez or Preowned Barush in Guadalaja? Any other used dealership recommendations good or bad would great as well. Thanks in advance for any information.
Mainecoons
Contact Antonio Regolado. He is on Facebook. Not only has some excellent cars for sale but will also find you what you are looking for and handle everything for a very reasonable fee. He saved me more than he cost with his inspection and negotiation skills alone. Buying cars in Mexico is nothing like NOB. There are NO consumer protections and a lot of crooks out there. Not worth the risk. antoni.regalado@gmail.com
oasiscloud
You could check https://www.kavak.com/. Kavak is the Mexico equivalent to Carvana. You can see what is available in Guad. and across Mexico through them. We went to their dealership in Guad a while back. Didn't end up buying from them, but they have a lot of cars to look at which can help give you a better idea of what you are looking for, prices, etc.
John Shrall
I bought a used car many years ago searching through listings at https://soloautos.mx It was very much the same as buying a new car - no negotiations. i still have the car and had no problems with the sale or surprises with the car. CHILLIN
Watch out for rehabbed flood write off vehicles imported from the USA. Search on google for tips how to spot them.

Search on google for tips how to spot them. Why does this flood issue kept being raised I would suggest there are other reason's like a wrecked / totaled car...........I do not recall any recent major flooding in the US...or maybe I missed the big news!!! 1
RickS
Maybe chillin can point us to some recent data on this...
CHILLIN
What! Are you living under a dry rock? There have been billions of dollars of damage, most recently British Columbia and Seattle. This CBS article says at least 210, 000 vehicles in the South U.S. alone. This seems low to me, maybe a lot of people cannot afford a writeoff, so they try to bluff their way through, trying to sell without the salvage flag on the title. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/flood-damage-used-cars-hurricane-ida-pirg-nicb-vehicles/
Mainecoons
OK but the question is, how many of them are making their way down here?
Ferret
You don't think there are water damaged cars from floods in Mexico? Happens every year somewhere in Mexico.
CHILLIN
Check out the flooded cars auction websites to see the appeal. Incredible bargains, even on classic cars and trucks. Drive across the border as a tourist, then to the nearest chop shop.
ambconsultants
Beware of odometer readings as it is very common that they are turned back. Ask for warrranty booklet if possible, inspections etc. Sometimes new dealers used section is a good option. Sometimes short term warranty. tomgates
All the more necessary to deal with a reliable dealer. S&S has the Mexican version of the NADA valuation guide to used cars.
Mostlylost
There are many flood cars in Mexico. Guadalajara, Mexico City, Veracruz have had many flood events in the last year. In the USA all flood cars have a title that shows it is a flood vehicle. You can not import a vehicle with a title that says flood on the title

Ferret
Pre-Owned Used Cars And New Vehicles |soloautos.mx® If a listing say "particular" in the upper left corner, then it is privately owned. The rest are dealerships that usually give warranties on the used cars that they sell. I would suggest limiting your searches to the state of Jalisco.
