Floradude
I have always said I did not want a Kindle. I am an avid reader and I have always said I prefer books. During the past two years I have spent a small fortune on paperback books from Amazon and Amazon.mx I think the time has come to consider a Kindle. So, I am thinking of buying a Kindle but I have no idea what model to buy. I would like to hear from you Kindle readers on your recommendations. I do not want anything fancy. Just something reliable, easy to read, etc.
gringohombre
Kindle Whitepaper...just under $2,000 on Amazon mx. Do not need the higher priced ones with the add ones. You will wish you had done this years ago....amazing!!!
kam
I second the Paperwhite. I held out for years but the pandemic changed my mind. I read a lot and really appreciate the possibilities available with a Kindle.
Bisbee Gal
Had a Paperwhite when they first came out...decades ago. Upgraded to a Fire....after a few months I bought another Paperwhite. Paperwhites 'read' like books, no backlight, no glare. Smaller and lighter, I can fit in my purse.

Natasha
Paperwhite. Be sure to register purchase it in the U.S. with Amazon. That way you buy books (or choose the free ones.....which I do)... because choices from U.S. are better than if you show Mexico as location. I prefer new, but there were reconditioned ones at lower price, too. Whatever floats your boat.
Floradude
Thanks to all of you who recommended the Kindle Paperwhite. That's what I will buy. My next question when I buy it will be how do I get the book(s) into my Kindle? I am sure the instructions are clear on that.

Sure just go to Amazon.com pick books and then select all, then select books, Kindle. they will show deals then you you can search titles. Maybe here: https://www.amazon.com/Kindle-eBooks/b?ie=UTF8&node=154606011
Tingting
Or, if you just download the Kindle app on your tablet or cell...
Alpha1
BTW, there are a lot of free books available on Amazon to download (within seconds) to your Kindle. I much preferred a paper book over an E reader, but after having made the switch years ago, my only regret is I didn't do it sooner. There are many advantages to a Kindle over a paper version of the book; which you will learn as you use it. I will move up to the Paperwhite when my ancient Kindle decides to quit. sunnyvmx
With the paperwhite you can read in the sun.
jrod
And if you have Amazon prime, you get two free books per month. A selection is sent to your registered email the first few days of each month; you can look them up on amazon for reviews and details before you make your selection. MtnMama
If you haven't used a Kindle before, your first download should be the User Guide and Quick Start Guide for your model. You can use it on the devise or use the PDF on you computer. https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=G7N7RPHV2SW8CKBW
