LCS Open Circle had an excellent presentation 3 Oct and the YouTube video has just been posted. The speakers are our own Don Aiken and David Rodwell, both internationally known climate change and alternative energy experts and speakers. The presentation lasts about 45 minutes and is well worth watching if you want up-to-date information, want to know more, or are skeptical and want to learn more.

"One irony of the current market is that weather events ascribed to global warming are stoking demand for transport of out-of-favor coal. A second irony is that the decarbonization push in China could increase coal-shipping demand even more."

"Next time you see an electric car or a charging station, keep in mind the emissions involved in producing the battery and the electricity used to keep it running."

"Some of the shortages are due to accidents, like the cutting of an undersea cable to the UK, but most are due to green policies and stupid political choices, ironically shutting down oil and gas-fired power plants and fossil fuel exploitation and transport at the demand of the greens, who grossly overestimate both global warming and the ability of air, sun and water to take their place. Ironically, this means coal -- the dirtiest possible fuel -- is back in huge demand."

Tell it to the Chinese.  World's #1 polluter has more coal fired plants under construction than currently exist in the entire U.S.  Responsible alone for more than half the ocean pollution on the planet.

Do you think they are taxing themselves silly and damaging their economy to save the climate?  I think they are laughing their heads off at us while they show up at these world meetings and mutter platitudes and watch the western world pretend it can solve this problem with windmills, electric cars, taxes and regulations and carbon credits.

I'll tell you what we've been doing, regulating and taxing away our own capacity to manufacture while buying a bunch of mostly ill made junk from the world's dirtiest country instead of one of the cleanest.  Heck, Mexico is even cleaner than China.

Ironically, we could probably do more for global pollution and climate just by not banning their junk and telling companies to return to North and Central America or shut down.

And just for fun, google up "list of failed climate predictions."  :D

Yes, the wicked have been conspiring since the earth cooled.

Gosh, and I thought the earth was warming; you know global warming.

Climate change because there is no warming.

Wrong again. Not referred to as global warming because ignorant people don't understand that doesn't mean the planet is just getting steadily hotter everywhere, as you just proved. It's a process that can make it hotter in some places and colder in others, but yes, the planet is in general warming. As evidenced by receding glaciers, melting ice caps and huge icebergs.

So, are suggesting it is getting colder out? We are approaching winter :)

Climate change deniers have a hard time understanding things like that. They seem to think that global warming means it's just supposed to get hotter everywhere all the time and when it doesn't, that's their "proof" that it's a big hoax.

No. The statistical pattern refutes the claim.

Climate Change is nothing more than a money grabbing fraud-

Oh, and the oil and gas industries and the coal mining companies don't have a vested interest in making sure that we believe it's a fraud? The U.S. could be leading the world in renewable energy and providing jobs for those that have lost theirs in the rapidly declining coal mines but I guess it's better to just keep giving the billionaire owners tax breaks so they can help fund their favorite politician.

Top executives at ExxonMobil and other oil giants are set to testify at a landmark House hearing Thursday as congressional Democrats investigate what they describe as a decades-long, industry-wide campaign to spread disinformation about the role of fossil fuels in causing global warming.

Some experts indicated that it’s not just the specifics of Biden’s plan, but the whole idea of fighting climate change through government fiat that is misguided.

The government has a poor track record of addressing long-term problems such as climate change, said Mark Thornton, economist with the classical liberal Mises Institute.

“These are types of issues which are wholly unsuited to the political process,” he told The Epoch Times. “The market is really best suited to deal with this.”
