Cataract surgery lakeside

For those who may be unaware, Dr. Claudia has an office separate from the eye clinic in Guadalajara. I was examined by her there because I cannot climb steps. I opted for my surgery done by Dr. Garrido at Puerta De Hierro Sur, which was a perfect experience, with private room pre and post procedure, an anesthesiologist who emailed with me ahead of time to learn of my prior experience. I had eyes done separately; Zeiss (AT LISA) trifocal lenses at 42,000 pesos each all in.

In the clinic you didn't go to,it's an out patient procedure.no need for stay pre and post. There is a reason that there is a Ferrarie and Lamborghini showroom beside HPH where you went to contribute.

No idea what you are talking about regarding show rooms. I saw a Walmart on one side and electronics store (I think) on the other.

My procedure was outpatient, just that I got to relax and change in a private room. Because of my disability; cannot bend, I need a bed to get undressed/dressed. I do not know if this is available at the clinic. Also, I require a specialist to hit my veins for IV due to Arthrogryposis. Thankfully they have one on staff at the hospital who was called after several failures by two nurses.

Besides all that, my total cost was about 20,000 to 30,000 (maybe 40) pesos less than if I went with Dr. Claudia for the same lenses (including topography).

Perhaps a little thought prior to jumping to ridicule with your posts may be in order?

The car dealerships mentioned are near the Hospital Puerto Hierro Andares in a pretty upscale part of Guadalajara. I not sure what car dealerships being next to a hospital and several high-rise apartment buildings means.

I had my cataract surgery at that hospital down from the Ferraris by Dr Eugenio Chavez de La Paz. Extremely organized pre and post op with a real emphasis on a sterile environment to limit infections. My total cost was under $50,000 pesos for both eyes (one at a time). Optic nerve damage possibly made the procedure a little more difficult.

I don't know what Dra. Claudia and her family drive, but I hope it's something expensive and that I contributed to it because she (and Dr. Silva, the retinologist) saved my eyesight. Quality care deserves quality bennies.

Tim decided to go elsewhere. Claudia. her family and their associates are the best that you can get here so read more carefully, por favor. And yes I  have plenty of first hand knowledge, in a past career, where I had personal contact with about 100 Ophthalmologists.

I know how to read and added that I wished good bennies for Dra. Claudia and family. Is it so difficult for you to realize that two things can be similar in tone, but not the same? Read my comment more carefully, por favor. I made no conection with HPH.

I did not go the hospital which P thinks I did BTW. He must have done so much work to be able to judge all the ophthalmologists in GDL to know who is the best.

Our experience TODAY Aug 23 for 1st of two eye surgeries. No finger pointing. No "my guy/gal is better than your guy/gal"  etc.  Edification            present situation only.  (post CoV etc)

1.  Handout is a little outdated. Said "wear clean clothes etc. because you will be in a sterile operating environment".  At his turn: taken into changing cubicle (with bench seat) and 3 wooden lockers with keys up one side. Strip down to briefs... no shoes or sox either. Hearing aids removed. Paper pull-over t-shirt, pants, booties, and mask. Spidery-web thing for hair. . His personal items locked into locker and I kept the key.

2.  No stairs. Surgical suite on main floor.  BUT.... outside change room,  up slight ramp ( maybe 5 paces) with handrail. Levelled out.  Short distance ramp again. Level from there.

3.  Masks required at all times. EXCELLENT experience. By 2:15 ready to leave (appt. 12:30). Follow-up in Chapala tomorrow.

4.  Trip in and out good. Did not use their directions.... know faster, easier ways to-from and did that. WORST part of entire day? Finding a parking spot!!!   All full on arrival. Did the narrow  one-way-street 2-step for 20 minutes. Finally found a place. On walking back, hey!! There's a space in their parking area. He got to stand and save while I boogied back to car,    more one-way-street fun, and  nailed it.

Natasha, Which doctor describes your post?

I THINK you mean which doctor did he attend?  If yes, Dra. Paulina Camacho-Choza...... Dra. Claudia's sister. (Both mentioned in earlier replies OP) Family's main offices are in Guad, but have maintained a satellite office in Chapala for several years.
