Heart Hospital west Ajijic

Recommended Posts

We often eat at Jorge's directly across the street from this hospital. The most activity I have ever seen  is people washing the front windows.  We have never heard of anyone being admitted there.  There are seldom more than  just a few cars in the parking lot.  Anybody have any first-hand information about this place?  Maybe we are just around on non-busy days?

A neighbour who has had heart problems for years has been a patient of Dr. Moya for years thinks he is very good. Dr. Moya seems quite expensive to me.

A few years back when Dr Moyer only had his clinic in  Joco, he "took me" for a Holter test, the guy seems to love Gringos and their  potential rewards

I think that happens a lot here. I think that my neighbour who has been a client of Dr. Moya for years is being over charged. I asked a  bilingual Mexican to go over Moya's bill as a result I told my neighbour not to pay more unless Moya does something specific. The only way Moya will come visit my neighbour at home is if my neighbour tells Moya he has money or him.

I have been a patient of Dr. Moya for years as well.  I do not believe I am overcharged and I know dr. Moya will come to my home whenever I need him - I have him on speed dial and have his contact information ("for any time of day or night, if needed") .... I don't believe in second hand gossip and I would encourage everyone to find out  for him/herself what they think of his care. I am totally happy with the care and attention I continue to receive from him and very happy not to have to drive to Joco to get it ...

Would your post be considered second hand gossip? My post certainly wasn't second hand. Dr. Moya does make house calls-sometimes unexpectedly. I was happy with Dr. Moya's care, just concerned about the charges. The Mexican caretaker and Mexican lawyer I brought in thought it was high but they would I guess as they could shop around and find lower prices but my neighbour could not as he was house bound.

I don't know where some of the info on Dr. Moya is coming from but from my own and several friends personal experiences it isn't accurate .He was recommended to me by a medical professional from the U.S. and proved to be everything I could hope for in a cardiologist .He found a problem I didn't even know I had and had me operated on in a few days to correct the problem . He told me exactly what it would cost , which compared to other doctors who have worked on me, seemed very reasonable .His rate for office consultations is the same or less than at least 4 cardiologists I have seen .For my surgery he had a young doctor on his staff take me to and from the hospital .Dr. Moya paid the hospital and I paid him later . If you don't think this is rare just check around . After my surgery Dr. Moya or one of his other doctors came to my house everyday for two weeks to check on my condition .There was no extra charge .My wife also had a serious illness that wasn't Dr. Moya's field but since I trusted him I ask for his opinion on who to see and he brought a  specialist in from Guad to treat her . My advice is never take someone else's opinion when it comes to your health .See the doctor yourself , ask all the right questions and make your own decisions . There are way too many people posting info on legal or medical issues that are wrong , misinformed , or just don't know what they are talking about.

Yes, Dr. Moya is attentive. But the Mexicans involved in this case thought he charged too much. I have no idea whether he did or not. I only  met him a few times-not as a patient.

Is the newly built facility a "hospital" in which Dr. Moya is doing surgeries?

When my neighbour needed his pacemaker adjusted Dr. Moya took him into Guadalajara to a clinic rather than the hospital in west Ajijic.

Depends what kind of adjustment the pacemaker needed. Most time the manufacturer reps will visit Lakeside or Guac and make the adjustments with a external Gizzo, any invasive surgery is more complicated and maybe done in Guadalajara were other specialist are on hand

It's not a hospital...it is a clinic.  My husband has seen the cardiologist Dr Moya, the rehab physician Dr Hernandez and completed a course of cardiac rehab at the clinic.  We've been thrilled with the care he received there.

It is a large building. I will have to stop in and see what is inside.

I don't know how it went with your neighbor, but several years ago I was picked up and driven to a very run down "clinic" in Guadalajara for a stent. Miserable experience in general. If that's still the case, the advertising on the new offices is mighty misleading.

The new clinic looks pretty flashy.

Yup,the rep comes down to Brisenos office as needed to check my wife's pacemaker. I would think that changing pacemakers can be done at SAT now instead of having to go to Guadalajara. We are so lucky to have a place like SAT right here for all sorts of things.
