AlanMexicali
Exactly how long ago did Chapala recieve the first round of Sinovac? 4 to 5 weeks?
cedros
Earlier they said next week would be Jocotepec. Now they say Chapala and Ajijic. Confusing. Total confusion in Mexico-no wonder people are going to Texas for the vaccine.

Mostlylost
Regarding the application of the second dose for the elderly, Isaac Trejo Gracián (acting mayor of Chapala) pointed out that there is still no official date from the Ministry of Health; so he asked the population for patience and calm Check this page daily. When those in charge have a date and location it will be posted here: https://www.jalisco.gob.mx/es/gobierno/comunicados/vacunacion-en-jalisco

Rainbird
The information that Mostlylost about the vaccine locally as well as the process in getting a vaccine in the US has been very helpful and accurate. He has really kept me on target and led me in the right direction. After getting the second dose of Sinovac here, we will be heading to Texas for another brand of the vaccine. For Sinovac, we have already reserved the second dose. For the simple reason that the interval between the first and the second dose is only 28 days," he explained. https://vodenglish.news/longer-delay-recommended-between-covid-19-vaccine-doses/ Health Ministry spokeswoman Or Vandine stated in a voice audio message on April 9 that for Sinovac and Sinopharm, the second dose should be taken between 14 to 28 days after the first. She did not reply to questions about discrepancies in research and recommendations. The director of Phnom Penh’s National Pediatric Hospital, Nhep Angkeabos, said his hospital was providing Sinovac to civil servants on a flexible timescale, with the second dose possible as early as two weeks after the first. “For the second dose of Sinovac and Sinopharm, [dose intervals for] both are the same — between two weeks to four weeks — but if people come on the third week it is better than two weeks,” Angkeabos said. “This is based on a test from Chinese laboratory,” he added. “We just followed the laboratory and the medicine producing factory. We just follow their advice.” Li Ailan, World Health Organization representative to Cambodia, said Sinovac currently recommends that the second dose of its vaccine be delivered after 30 days “in routine settings,” though the second dose can be given after two weeks “in an emergency context.” She added that Sinopharm advises 21 to 28 days between doses. Who to believe? "Duque, during the COVID-19 task force's weekly briefing with President Rodrigo Duterte, said those who have already been inoculated with Sinovac's vaccine will get the second dose after 28 days" I have already been 37 days. Notice he did not say how many days after 28 days.

cedros
I live near that hospital. I walk up there every morning about 8am and ask when the vaccination is coming. They had a sign up for weeks that more infomation would be posted soon. It never was. Yesterday the security guard assured me that they would start this week. I posted on Chapala.com that I had heard a rumour about this but I did not post the details. Last night I was woken from my sleep by two phone calls about 9 pm. One was from a lady who lives across from the hospital and other came from a maid from Ajijic who works in the Rauqet Club. Both said that the second vaccinations would start today. At 4:30 this morning this infomation had still not been post on the Gobierno de Jalisco website. The Gobierno has a communication problem-it is not reliable.. The information is still not posted on the Gobierno de Jalisco website promoted above-101/2 hours I had heard about it.

gringal
"In this day and age" being on Facebook is exposing yourself to problems unnecessarily. Official information from the goverment should be available to everyone on their public site. So far, this has been the most confusing situation, ever. 2 1
