National Registration For Vaccine

Floradude

Recommended Posts

The Mexican Federal Government now has a site where older people can register for the vaccine.

    mivacuna.gob.mx

You will need only two pieces of information--your CURP number and you email address.  When I put my information into the site I was told (in Spanish) that "for this stage, you are not within the vaccination group registered by your agency (??).  If you are health personnel, please contact your medical director.

I am 77 (will be 78) in June.  I will be curious what others are told.

That is not the correct site.  This is, https://mivacuna.salud.gob.mx/

On Guad TV news this morning they had a clip of Lopez-Gatell (health guy from Mexico City) telling of how the OVERWHELMING response caused the site to totally crash.  They're working on it.  For me, it won't open this a.m.  But he said all you can do is keep trying....

At least we are assured that age limits will (we hope) be respected.... from oldest and then descending  age groups.

are you serious. the entire country is trying to sign up at the same time. and you bet your sweet bippy that group includes more than just over 60s as they see if they can sneak in. it takes massive computing power to sustain a site like that

The CURP has your birth date so residents under sixty will not be able "to sneak in". They will be rejected immediately and not enter the following pages to register. This should not slow down the website.

If you see what information this site requires you to enter I feel it is also mining data on almost all residents in Mexico, similar to now needing to "re-register" to get a "valid" "updated" CURP.

The federal government knows where everyone lives - street address, who you live with, their cel. phone #, their E-Mail and that you still live in Mexico. If they need to speak to you they know how with one click of a mouse. All this in a one step do it yourself data disclosure for the promise of a free $10.00 dollar vaccination.

People trying to get to site, and entering data (only to be rejected) will indeed slow it down, even crash it.

They have that now.

The federal government has that information one every Mexican over 18 who is registered with INE. Your INE card must be updated when you move and expires at 10 years at which time you will need to renew with a valid proof of address. INE card or Passport is the only valid ID in Mexico for almost anything a Mexican needs to do.

Residente temporal and Residente Permanente visas require you update your address when you move.

Any government need requires a proof of address less than 90 days old.   CFE. a federal company, has your information as well

They already know all that- it's on our residency data with INM, with the exception of who you live with, if it isn't someone who has no file with INM.

Covid vaccination registrations overwhelm site; 3 million seniors to be inoculated in 1 week
Senior citizens without internet will be contacted by members of vaccination brigades

Published on Wednesday, February 3, 2021

The federal government website for the registration of seniors who want to receive a Covid-19 vaccine was overwhelmed by high demand on Tuesday, leaving many people unable to access it.

Deputy Health Minister Hugo López-Gatell said the site was swamped as soon as it was launched on Tuesday morning.

“That really pleases us, it speaks of the clarity the people of Mexico have about the importance of getting vaccinated against the SARS-CoV-2 virus and protecting oneself and protecting others from Covid-19,” he told reporters at the Health Ministry’s Tuesday night coronavirus press briefing.

López-Gatell said that 65,000 to 70,000 people per second were trying to register their details at one point and the system was saturated as a result.

The coronavirus point man said that work is being carried out to ensure that the website can cope with high volumes of traffic and advised people to be patient and continue trying to register. The site – mivacuna.salud.gob.mx – was functional on Wednesday morning.

The government’s information technology chief said Tuesday that it is intended to register seniors who live in medium-sized and large cities. César Vélez said that seniors who register will be subsequently contacted by government employees known as servants of the nation and given a vaccination appointment date and location.

López-Gatell said that seniors who live in parts of the country without internet access will be contacted by members of the government’s “roadrunner” vaccination brigades to inform them about when and where they can be vaccinated.

But it’s not only seniors who live outside large cities and towns who are likely to have trouble accessing the online vaccination platform.

More than 7.5 million seniors don’t have an internet connection in their home, according to the national statistics agency Inegi. The figure accounts for about half of the nation’s 15.4 million seniors.

Family members of the elderly are likely to be called upon to complete the registration process but some of them are also likely to face difficulties logging on. According to Inegi, 99 million people live in urban areas in Mexico and 36.9 million of them are not connected to the internet at home.

Of those who are unconnected, 44.1% live in just six states: México state, Puebla, Jalisco, Veracruz, Mexico City and Guanajuato.

López-Gatell
López-Gatell said website response indicates people recognize the importance of getting vaccinated.
More than 5.5 million people in México state, which ranks second in the country for coronavirus cases and Covid-19 deaths, are not connected to the internet at home, meaning that they will have to use mobile internet service, internet cafes or other alternatives to register themselves or their loved ones on the seniors’ vaccination website.

The poor, many of whom live in crowded conditions that have spurred the spread of the coronavirus, are likely to face the most difficulty in getting online.

However, López-Gatell was confident on Tuesday that a large number of senior citizens will be inoculated quickly once the process begins. He estimated that the 3 million older adults who live in rural areas will be vaccinated in just one week through the efforts of 20,000 vaccination brigades.

The government announced in early January that teams of a dozen people — four welfare officials, two healthcare workers, four military guards and two volunteers — would provide the vaccine to seniors at community centers and in their homes. At the time there were to be 10,000 such brigades. As of Tuesday, the number has been doubled.

Meanwhile, the immunization of health workers is proceeding slowly due to the lack of vaccines in the country. Only 2,027 shots of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine were administered on Tuesday, according to Health Ministry data.

More than 677,000 vaccines doses have been administered since the vaccination program began on December 24 but only 45,748 of those doses were second shots of the Pfizer vaccine. That means that the vast majority of health workers don’t have the fuller protection provided by the two shots, and many are unlikely to get a second dose within the recommended timeframe as Mexico waits for Pfizer to restart delivery of shipments following the upgrade of its production facility in Belgium.

The government expects to receive its next shipment of Pfizer vaccines sometime in the middle of February, and also anticipates receiving AstraZeneca/Oxford University, Sputnik V and CanSino Biologics vaccines this month.

The health regulator Cofepris granted emergency use authorization to the Sputnik vaccine, of which Mexico intends to purchase 24 million doses, on Tuesday.

López Obrador, currently sick with Covid-19, said last Friday that Mexico will receive 6 million vaccine doses this month and an additional 12 million in March. He predicted that all seniors who want to be immunized will receive at least one dose of a vaccine by the end of next month.

As preparations for a wider vaccine rollout ramp up, Mexico’s confirmed coronavirus case tally and Covid-19 death toll continue to grow.

The Health Ministry reported 4,384 new cases on Tuesday – the lowest daily tally since mid November – lifting the accumulated tally to just over 1.87 million. The death toll rose by 433 to 159,533, the third highest in the world behind those of the United States and Brazil.

The registration for the vaccination against COVID of older adults (60+ years) has started.

Background
To register for the Covid Vaccine in Mexico currently requires a CURP number. Residents (permanent and temporary) and citizens have a CURP number. Those on a tourist visa do not. I don't know if there might be a future option for people without a CURP number or, if there is, when that might be.

The English language instructions below include a section on locating and printing your CURP number. The number is on your Mexican Driver's License and Permanent or Temporary Resident Card. At least it is on mine. Also see this post on SMAFAQ: Locating and Printing Your Mexican CURP.

You have to enter the website and enter your data. Before you start, you need to have your CURP number. You will also need a Mexican phone number (you must enter 10 digits so there is no room to enter a country code) where you or someone you trust can later take a call for you with your appointment information.

The website is in operation from 8 am to midnight seven days a week. It may take a while to get through. If you can not open the website during those hours it is probably because it is saturated...try again later. When you get through and complete the information and then hit send (enviar) the advice is 'if you don’t get a response, don’t start over. Just hit it every 15 minutes or so. Reports are that it takes a long time to process the confirmation.'

On the first day of operation there were some reports of interruptions / errors in the service. If you encounter an error try again later.

Instructions are from the wonderful folks at Covid-19 SMA
1. Enter the page https://mivacuna.salud.gob.mx/
2. Enter your CURP. In case you don't know it or don't have it on hand, first follow instructions
later in this tutorial on “Locating and Printing Your CURP”
3. Verify that your data is correct.
4. Select the option "I want to be vaccinated."

Read through all of the steps at the link below before you start. Instructions are from the wonderful folks at Covid-19 SMA ...
Vaccine Registration Instructions. | Español.

Which vaccine will I get?
We don't know at this time which vaccine will be used for any particular person, place or date.

What does it mean to be registered?
It means that you are on the list. You do not yet have an appointment but you will be contacted later with appointment information based on your age and location.

Best time to register is before 7 a.m.

They could have made it a state website registration.

Each state having a website probably would not have resulted in this predictable crash.

Everyone saw that AMLO expects to have 15 million elderly vaccinated by end of March.

Since he wasn't able to complete the healthcare workers' second dose of Pfizer in the needed timeline, why does AMLO even make projections. He boasted of a new JNJ agreement for 22 million but everyone knows JNJ is out of production until some time in April and who knows who gets the first 100 million off the line. Probably not Mexico who just placed their order for JNJ.

Everything I have read points to the following:

<1 million Sputnik-5

>10 million CanSino (24 milion on order).

<4 million other incl 1.5m Pfizer, Astra Zeneca (if India is willing to offload some of their production to Mexico).

The questions we have might turn to: What is the efficacy and safety of CanSino since 80 to 90% of us are going to get CanSino.

(Reuters) - China's CanSino Biologics Inc said on Monday an independent committee found the drugmaker's COVID-19 vaccine met its pre-specified primary safety and efficacy targets under an interim analysis of Phase 3 trial data.

No adverse events related to the vaccine had occurred and the findings of the Independent Data Monitoring Committee (IDMC) meant the company could go ahead with advancing its Phase 3 clinical trial for the candidate, known as Ad5-nCoV or Convidecia, CanSinoBio said.

"The company remains blinded to whether the participants involved in the trial received vaccine or placebo," it said.

CanSinoBio began the late-stage trial for its one-dose vaccine in Russia in September in partnership with NPO Petrovax Pharm LLC and already has a supply deal with Mexico.

Meanwhile, Lopez-Gatell has dismissed the need for incoming travelers to produce a negative COVID test, saying "Sick people don't travel".

This is the guy who's supposed to be in charge of the federal pandemic response. You couldn't make this dumbs**t ignorance up.

Is anyone surprised their website doesn't work?

Getting back to the subject ....... it looks like the website has shut down for the night .After entering your CURP  the next page says displays " El horario de operación es de 8 de la mañana a 12 de la noche de lunes a domingo"

The national TV news just now reported the national website to register for vaccinations will be now operating 24 hours.
