Mostlylost
I entered Walmart a few minutes after 8 AM today without any problem. The young lady on duty watched me use the gel and check temperature. The young man who was checking receipts on people exiting also greeted me as I entered. 2 cashiers open no wait. Other shoppers obviously over 60 were in the store as well.

I used to laugh at my parents because they would go shopping early in the morning, often waiting in the parking lot beforehand until the store opened. I’m starting to get their logic now.
Fred Habacht
I just returned from a stop at Walmart.....I have snow white hair and I am 81 yrs old....I couldn't get away with denying I am over 60 if my life depended on it....I stopped did the hand station, then temperature check....wiped the wagon down and walked in........on my way home, I stopped at Bodega, a Walmart owned unit, no one at the door and no one even looked at me.......... Lexy
I went to Walmart about 9 this morning expecting to be stopped as I'm obviously over 60, and I was. The young man pointed to the sign that detailed the restrictions on certain shoppers. I said, I know. I added in Spanish, I need to buy food. I live alone. My friends are all over 60. I need to be here. The kid just backed off. I used some gel, already had a mask on, and I went in and shopped. I use Lakeside Shopping to place large orders and get it delivered. But for bread, milk and eggs and other stuff it's SuperLake or Walmart. I was going to try to honor this ban that was going to end Jan. 31. Then I saw it was extended to to Feb. So I did what I what the experts say:I wore a mask and kept my distance from others. And got what I needed for me and my dog. Lexy

They do not want to risk being shut down by the inspectors. We're fortunate here at lakeside.

I also went to Wally's World about 8:30 today and had zero problems. I just marched up to the gel dispenser and splooshed, spritzed a paper towel with the wonder liquid, and then took my temp with no problem. Of course, I had on my scarf, a mask and sunglasses, so the wrinkles were pulled into place.

lakeside7
Given that most of the "foreign" community are over 6 0 I guess an automatic no pass would be easy to spot...if you dress and walk like a "gringo" . I wonder how the "Mexicans" are being treated or identified ?
virgo lady
There's a good win-win opportunity here for "personal shoppers"......hand 'em your list at the door, go have a beverage in the shade or run other errands, and give a decent amount to cover the service when you get your stuff. Or....do it remotely and have delivery right to your home.....solves the "issue" while creating needed work for some. The municipal and the store could easily put this in place and find people to staff it......

HoneyBee
What is the reasoning for preventing people over 60 to enter ? Do we carry larger viruses ? Do we carry more viruses ? If anything this is turning in to a "nanny state" situation. (Welcome to Socialism). 1 1

The only difference is that IF they catch it, they have a greater chance of severe infection/death.

I'm not in any mood to be an educator today, so I'll leave it at that. Uniformed is not knowing that virtually all cases of covid in people over 60 are gotten at home, shopping while wearing mask and keeping distance has virtually a zero chance of getting covid and per Spencer this is a gross case of age discrimination specifically prohibited by the First Amendment to the Mexican Constitution. Please contact him for his detailed explanation the latter. 1
Whipstock
The INAPAM discount is only available to those over 60. Is that not a gross case of age discrimination too?
