AdamAdamLopez
Hi! I live in GDL and I was wondering if anyone knew how I can register a used car I purchased. I looked online and I keep seeing conflicting information. Any suggestions?

You will need to visit a recaudadora https://hacienda.jalisco.gob.mx/acerca/ubicacion-y-contacto/recaudadoras Take original and ( B&W) copies of: Your ID ( residente temporal or permanente) CURP Comprobante de domicilio Factura for the vehicle Tarjete de circulacion Ideally you would meet the person who sold you the vehicle there
AdamAdamLopez
I don't have the tarjeta de circulación.
Mostlylost
The seller should have given it to you. You can try without and see what happens, Always best to to do the change of ownership before you make the final payment to the seller. https://www.jalisco.gob.mx/es/atencion-ciudadana/preguntas-frecuentes/20873

The used car seller should have given you a factura from them to you. They should have also given you a copy of the original factura for the vehicle. to show the chain of ownership from when the vehicle was originally sold new. AdamAdamLopez
Yeah they were helping me with it, but then I got freaked out because they asked for the car, the factura, the keys and my ID, they said they needed to take it all for a few days. Is that normal?

Intercasa
Only time they would take all that is if it did not have Jalisco plates.
AdamAdamLopez
Yeah it has Jalisco plates, so I thought it was weird. So I have the factura with my name on it, and my INE and a comprabate, y'all think I can go in person and get it done?

It's worth a try if not they will tell you what is missing and you can then ask the seller. But you should have a copy of the original factura in addition to the new factura
mudgirl
When I had to register a used vehicle I had bought, I needed to produce those. Turned out it hadn'tbeen paid for 2 years previous, and I had to pay the back payments owing.
