Yes  why would anyone remove the old sticker?  Much more fun to have 10 years worth of stickers on your windshield.

Hard to scrape off and a waste of time. Why bother. Therefore stick it in the glove compartment instead.

If you put the sticker on the top of the passenger window behind the driver and only have one sticker there it doesn't really block the driver's view.

We just got a ticket for not having the sticker on the windshield.

You didn’t have a 2020 sticker on the windshield ?

No, for some reason it was never applied. We have someone pay our registration for us and they usually apply it. Our fault for not checking.

My question too as the 2020 is still valid.

We got the ticket in December 2019. We had the sticker but it was in the glove compartment.

I kept forgetting to put my 2020 sticker on until about May. Then when I went to do it, I saw that the paperwork they had given me, was for someone else. The woman at the desk had obviously handed me the wrong papers. I was afraid it would be a huge hassle to correct, but in fact it wasn't. I had to wait about 20 minutes, but they issued me a new receipt and stickers.

Almost nobody sticks them on their windshield anymore anyway that I have noticed. After the vehicle is older they obscure your view and look bad.

I have never put them on my windshield.

They aren't hard to scrape off at all. You have to use one of those razor knives that are used to scrape paint off window glass.

And then a bit of widow cleaner.
