Are European destinations feasible from GDL?

Wondering how feasible European destinations are from GDL. Does anyone have any experiences with European travel from Guad?

We went to Italy in 2018. Many layovers. First one being in Atlanta.

Guadalajara to Mexico City then directly to Europe

I don’t think you can fly directly to Europe from Guadalajara,  If you fly Aeromexico then your stop is in  Mexico City, if you fly an American airline it’s somewhere in the US, usually Dallas, Houston or Atlanta

Last time we looked there were a number of flight to Europe from Mexico City but it was always much more expensive to go that way than through the U.S.  Didn't check Canada.

The short answer is no for nonstop. Yes for connections via Mexico City, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, LA. Keep Cancun in mind, as European airlines fly nonstop there and have return flights for their vacationers, too.

What NoVaDamer said!  We’ve done 3 direct flights to Europe from Cancun, we usually tack on a couple of days to hang out at the beach.  Also direct flights from Mexico City and a nice new hotel in the terminal should you want to stay over.  We like going via Cancun when we can as it’s nice way to break up a long trip.  Happy travels!

My son and his fiancee are coming from London for xmas and their best and safest route is to Cancun and from there to Guadalajara. There are other flights with stops in Dallas and Mexico City that we looked at.

Sorry but this website is wrong. There are no non stop  nor direct flights from Guadalajara to either France or Germany in the next week as shown on their graphic. They are falsely picking up a Aeromexico code-share flight flight showing as being operated by Air France as a direct flight. It actually requires a plane change in Mexico City.

For information:  There is a difference between non-stop and direct.  A direct flight can have stops before the final destination. You just don't change planes, although you might be required to exit and re-board.

Those direct flights you mention are cargo flights. No passenger flights. There are no nonstop/direct passenger flights from gdl to Europe. There were plans starting one to Paris or Madrid maybe. But obviously with the pandemic these plans has been put on hold.

There are no direct flights to France from Guadaljara. I refue to go via the States and always go GDL MEX CDG and many times KLM gets in the way and you have to stop in Amterdam on the way back to Mexico.

As has been stated above most flights to Europe from GDL go through Mexico City or one flight change somewhere in the U.S.

Not to beat a dead horse but..... GDL to Cancun ($50-$75) and then on to Europe non-stop.... example:  Lutfhansa to Frankfurt for $400 OW.

This will not be the first time my son has taken this route.

On a related note, the route via Cancun also works when returning from the US. We are in Playa del Carmen right now, having taken a Southwest Airlines flight (CVG-BWI-CUN) GottaGetAway fare of $100 USD. Part of SouthWest's regular fare sales.
