Official Local Covid Data From Jalisco State Site

These alleged official #'s taken from a newspaper are much higher than the real official #'s from the federal gummint site which is shown in detailed graph form.

I use the newspapers because they nicely summarize the daily OFFICIAL Jalisco Data.  The Jalisco platform includes private testing.  It is the site that Alfaro and Moy (and Hector) use.  They are not ALLEGED numbers Pedro, they are the REAL DEAL. Go here for the source all local newspapers and Jalisco governments rely upon.   https://coronavirus.jalisco.gob.mx/corte-del-dia/

You have to look at the trend  knowing that the numbers are aproximate.. depending on when the case was reported so , everything is more or less and do not account for people who have not been tested.. , no point getting excite about this unless you have nothing better to do...

I agree MEX is slow and low on testing.  But it's all we have and at least the Jalisco site looks to private testing data, which the Federal site ignores.

Trends?  Here's some data.  I will attempt to update weekly.

Weekly case increases between July 2nd and Aug. 20th in Chapala.

Date             Cases       New Weekly Cases

July 2nd         33            -

July 9th          36             3

July  16th       37             1

July  23rd       41             4

July 30th        43             2

Aug. 6th          52            9

Aug. 13th        61            9

Aug. 20th        74          13

My very BIG problem with the stats that the local newspapers are reporting is that they NEVER tell you how many people have recovered and how many cases are currently active. That is a lie by omission.

It is the Federal site that omits data from private institutions.  By doing so they have omitted almost HALF of the cases in Chapala.  Now, that's a sin of omission!

The best approach is to look at BOTH data sets, Federal and State.  Figure it out for yourself, as best you can.

I do look at both sets of data. Neither is perfect but people do get better and it is inflammatory to state otherwise. Imho, the local papers with only ONE statistic give the idea that catching it is a death sentence... then again, they don't even state how many have actually died.

SNAFU.

My neighbor in CHiapas who was 52 and in good health got covid 2 weeks ago and had 3 strokes in 10 days and dies of the last one.. They say  that covid causes strokes  but who knows.. That death was reported as derame cerebral.. so much for the statistic and cause of death.

For those who think they are only reporting the deaths, this is not actually true. All you need to do is some math. Deduct the number of deaths from total contagions, and the remainder is how many people have recovered plus active cases. Sadly, they have stopped reporting active cases so we can no longer deduct that number to find all recovered cases. As for those who enjoy the percentages game, here is what 1% death rate looks like. You can judge for yourselves what this means against actual death rates and if that is acceptable to you.
