Hummingbird identification

They don't stay around long. This pic i took about 6 or 7 years ago. There was a male & female at my feeder for about 2 weeks. Never able to get a shot of the female.

Earlier this month I had a Magenta Throated Woodstar male at my feeder. Very shy and so many other hummers he had a hard time staying long. Only a couple of quick pics with my phone. Never got the good camera out in time. My guide says they are only in Central America.

While I don't have any photos of the Sparling Tailed Woodstar, I have quite a few of other hummingbirds that frequent our area. They were taken at the home of the woman known as Flossie the Hummingbird Lady. Flossie has since moved back to the US and lives in a nursing home now, but she still loves hummingbirds. I told Flossie's story and showed several species from her yard in my blog, Jim and Carole's Mexico Adventure:
