johanson
For 800 it's 883 For 866 it's 880 If you are a member of the LCS, it's listed in their phonebook.
lakeside7
Beware many of those alternative # for the 800 numbers will have a recorded message You will be charged for the call at the regular rate...I try to find a regular number that if will be "free" using the prefix 001
cedros
Isn't it free if you just call the regular number (not 800) with Telmex. Like Lakeside wrote.

I get free US calls with my Telmex plan but they still charge if I call one of these numbers
chapalence
I have called all variety of 800 numbers from my cell phone (TelCEL) and NEVER paid any additional fees in spite of the recording. TelMEX is likely a different story.
More Liana
I use Telmex and call the alternate 800 numbers frequently. 001-8XX-XXXX. I do hear the message that "you will be charged...blah blah blah", but I have never been charged. These are the substitutions for 800 that I have:

Kyle
Johnson, the 883 does not work for 800 numbers. But the 880 does
johanson
Kyle, thank you for the correction. I was just copying from a 2019 LCS phone book. I just looked at a 2018 Chapala Directory and it shows what you posted ie; use 880 here in Mexico when calling a north of the border 800 number. I just checked the 2020 LCS phonebook it also agrees with you.
