Rubber "foot" for wooden cane

Natasha

Recommended Posts

My elderly Mexican neighbor has a homemade wooden cane (which she prefers over "medical" ones) and the rubber cushioned  "foot" has worn through.  I know they can be purchased...... but anyone know where? Kind of critical to locate ASAP as she's had 2 bad falls in the last 2 weeks because the bottom of the cane is not stable on the cobbles.  Gracias!

Home Depot has this sort of thing- you have to look in the section where they sell felt pads and other things to put under the legs of furniture. So they aren't specifically for cane tips, but would work. You'd have to measure the diameter of the cane tip. Also upholsterers' supply shops sell these.

Jara near Telmex in Ajijic, has a variety of these and you will probably find one that would fit.

Or if not there maybe the little 'five and dime' store south off the Ajijic plaza....
