I guess it all depends on your budget - I just had 8 crowns done at Dental express with no problems and happy with the work.  I just this morning had to go to Dr. Haro´s office to see the root canal specialist because of another Dentist´s (NOT DENTAL EXPRESS) horrid work.  Actually had to have Dental Express replace three crowns done in March by this same horrid dentist. I had three dentists at Dental Express look into the pain I was having but could not find it so that is why I went to see Dr. Haro  who then referred me to his specialist.  I will still use Dental express if I need more crowns because my budget will not allow going elsewhere at more than double the price.

Dental Express is good. I have been going there for three (almost four) years. When Dr. Edgar was there you could see him and get some expert care. The dentist there now are not experienced and so I don't trust them to do intricate work. In fact, the dentist I have now seems to need to refer me to the in-house specialist for gums and now twice for root canal advice. It takes another visit which incurs an additional charge. So I don't think Dental Express is as cheap as they were at one point since you need a few visits (and payments) to deal with an issue.

It is sad as I've referred several people there when Dr. Edgar was present. Now that he is rarely there, in my experience, the level of care and the quality of care is suffering.

I would appreciate knowing if other's have seen the same situation or am I just having more complicated dental issues and need to find a dentist that can deal with them without referring me to an in-house specialist.

Can you expound on 'Dr. Edgar not being there'?  He owns the practice. I know that for the last "couple of years' he had been commuting to Houston (I believe) for further training but thought that would surely be done by now. I agree that it is he that I have the most confidence in... any maybe his wife for periodontal.... and I made sure HE would be doing my exam and subsequent "CAD/CAM" workup for the bridgework that I needed.

In business we had a saying:  "We offer the highest quality, immediate delivery, and lowest price:  pick two."  We have been to a few dentists here.  My wife had an infection stemming from a root canal improperly performed (not in Mexico).  A triple root canal was only completed on one of the three roots.  Every dentist could see it, but only one had the skill to drill through the crown, properly complete the root canal process, and cure the infection.  That was Dr. Haro's root canal specialist, Dr. Diaz.  He smoothly performed the micro-surgery and saved the tooth.  The total cost for the initial examination, X-rays, surgery, and follow-up to close the tooth was MX$7,000 pesos; i.e. about $350.  I don't know how "pricey" that appears, but when one's option is suffering an infection and losing the tooth, it appears quite affordable.  If price is one's only criterion, quality may come in last.
