Zeb
I came across this article and I thought it might be helpful, so I will try it. I am posting for others' benefit as well. IF YOU HAVE THIS PLANT IN YOUR HOUSE, YOU WILL NEVER SEE MICE, SPIDERS AND OTHER INSECTS AGAIN! The main ingredient is fresh mint, a type of aromatic grass of big diffusion, appreciated by its characteristic refreshing fragrance. It is usually used in gastronomy, but many people don’t leave aside its therapeutic properties. How to use it? It is very simple. You should prepare a well concentrated mint tea. Place it in a spray bottle and spray every corner of your home, especially the corners of the doors and the rims of the windows. This will be disagreeable for the insects and it will keep them away from your house. It will also give you a fresh and pleasant aroma 2
suegarn
When you say 'well-concentrated', how much mint and how much water is in the mixture? Do you boil fresh mint leaves in the water, then cool, or do you have to muddle them in cold water? Also, does this work for cockroaches as well? Brigida
Since it's the aromatic oils that seem to be doing the repelling, I'd imagine you could use peppermint essential oil. I've used it full strength on cotton balls as a repellent. Just don't get your hands near your eyes after handling it.
Al Berca
Sounds similar to Ecomint, which I keep in stock at home year around. Even take it to restaurants to spray tables before sitting down to order during mosquito and fly season. Great stuff!
