Carrol
Has anyone used the Consulate Notary service recently in Ajijic or at the Legion? I have a few questions: 1) on the Pay To line, what did you instrtuct the bank to write? 2) how many days does Banamex take to create the Cashier's Check? 3) where did you get the exchange rate for the check 4) did you have any problems in this entire process (so I can avoid same). Thanks for your help! carrol39@gmail.com

rvanparys
The consulate sets the exchange rate monthly. Using that rate you determine the number of pesos needed. In Nov. the exchange rate was 20.5 pesos/dollar... No idea what it is for Dec.
Al Berca
Check and follow the Customs and Immigration section of this board where LCS posts monthly information and changes or just call LCS with your questions. They have the correct answers.
Ellie
The consulate will be at LCS on THURSDAY, December 13th. The local warden will not have the exchange rate until possibly the 7th or later and will post here. Will also be posted on TOB. LCS office has no further information until then. All other info from last months post remains the same.
