babyface
Does anyone know if a restaurant or caterer in the Lakeside area is doing roast turkey to take out? We have relatives coming for Thanksgiving and want to have a traditional dinner at our home, but don't have lots of hours to cook a turkey. Thanks! Lexy
Panino's in the past has offered take-out turkey dinners and most likely still does. Google for tel #. I'm sorry I don't have it. Lexy

Manix will cater your turkey dinner and that seems better than plates of food to take out.

Better stuffing, better gravy, better veg and moister turkey. 3
Lexy
Oh, I agree about Manix's turkey dinner. Years ago--we go way back--the buffet was wild fun, not just turkey, but pork, other stuff galore. A take-out dinner in styrofoam containers can be dreary. But the question was asked, and answered. There were quite a few people at Panino's waiting for their orders to be filled and I do think they try. Lexy
gringal
C'mon folks: Be kind to the environment: bring your own containers for those take out dinners. Tell the restaurant you're bringing them when you order. 2
Lexy
I think bringing your own containers to the restaurant for take-out is a terrific idea and since it's been mentionued on this forum a number of times it sounds as if the idea may be catching on. ComputerGuy
I'm curious how any restaurant will prepare a whole turkey with trimmings for takeout.
Xena
As I recall, Marco at El Rey, would have the turkey in an aluminum roasting pan covered in foil and the sides in disposable containers.
ComputerGuy
So there's an option. Incidentally, I've sent several requests to get on their mailing list, and never got a response. I've never been there myself.
rafterbr
In my restaurant in Oklahoma I had a 16 foot smoker and I could do 60 turkeys at a time. The sides were easy to do. Turkeys had to be ordered a week ahead of time and I limited to the first 60 requests. They could also order whole pumpkin or pecan pies.
