sunshine1
Is there anything somewhat similar to the meals on wheels program in the lakeside area. Does anyone know of anyone who cooks and delivers meals . Or does someone have recommendations for an individual that could come to one's home and prepare some meals. This would be in the San Antonio area of town.... Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Yo1
Almost all the restaurants are on board with the new delivery service that is now here. You can order almost anything you want and the delivery fee isn't too bad.
WideSky
I believe Pancho's new store in Riberas will carry locally made ready to eat meals; as well as Monday market at the Sunrise Cafe or La Huerta market on Tuesday have selections. Williams Burg pies also makes and delivers pies - chicken, beef, shrimp pot pies, bolognese, and tortierre; as well as a number of fruit & cream pies - they have full size (9") but also have a six pack of minis (your choice). https://www.facebook.com/williams.burg.319247

cstone
If it is helpful, Lakeside Shopping Services delivers items and food from CostCo on Wednesdays. Order on Monday by noon, delivery paid in cash at time of delivery. Also, Pollos Don David, aka "Dusty Chicken" delivers tasty grilled chicken and sides of rice, tortillas, salsa and it is very, very good.

I have called many restaurants that have even had some type of website or placards or menus that say delivery and in almost every case they say they don't. I have been told "they use to but not anymore, They don't have anyone to do it anymore" etc etc

ComputerGuy
Lakeside Delivery actually has a Web page now. http://food.sslakeside.com/restaurants/ They list only a handful of affiliated restaurants, but they will pick up from any restaurant. The trick is to know what you want to order. The Website shows the menus of their affiliates. Traitte also has a Website, and they geolocate your home. They appear to cater to the Mexican residents, but there is a language selector on the page. https://traitte.ordering.co/ Of course, neither delivery service is going to provide what the OP is asking for. ComputerGuy
"Cooks and delivers", or "prepare meals in the home". To me, a restaurant delivery service is not the same at all. At this point, it's not about the cost. Note that it has been tried here before, by at least three different people, over perhaps the last 10 years. No one could quite figure it out. It's a shame, because the area seems like the perfect place for this kind of service.
