Was at Quality Care this week and heard someone whom I assume was a newbie telling the specialist how cheap his bill was compared to the US. So don't be surprised if the fees go up next week.. A "normal" consult with a G.P. ten years ago was $250 pesos. In the last year or so it went to $300. A specialist is anywhere from $600 to $800 these days. I doubt a "newbie's" comments are going to change the standard. I have noticed that the current crop of newbies seem to be unusually ignorant about life in Mexico in general and it is rumored that they got their information from Facebook. If so, there will be a lot of topes in their road to adjustment to the reality here.
