cedros
Bar Jamon is a new rather classy restaurant in SJC. It is on the carretera on the west side of Pemex. Very nice setting, nice gardens, great service and pretty good food. The chef comes from Mexico City via Guadalajara. Nice presentation of the tasty food and even cloth napkins. Their New years Eve special dinner (multi course) was 500 pesos but there were many other options. On the ground floor of a large house. Worth a visit. The owner is a charming Catalan. bdlngton
What kind of dishes do they offer? What is price range? As chef is from Catalan, is the food typical of that region?
cedros
Quote I am not sure what you would call the type of dishes-fusion? Most entrees are around 200 pesos. The owner is from Catalan. I don't know what food is typical of that region. Much different that any of the dishes in nearby Piedra Barranada or at Viva Mexico. PULELEHUA
By Catalan do you mean he is from Coyuca de Catalan in the state of Guerrero? Or, from the Catalan region of Spain? Or,?

Taaffe
Went tonight. Meager jamon serrano, ok ravioli and messy chicken with saffron. Not bad, but pricey and just so, so. Too bad, San Juan needs good restaurants.
