Cincy
I used to see quail eggs for sale in Supper Lake and Costco's occasionally but not recently. Anyone see these for sale anywhere else? Abastos in Guadalajara maybe?
AngusMactavish
Joaquín in the mercado of Chapala has had them also.
Bisbee Gal
I am looking for some, too. Used to be stock item at Soriana years ago, but none found this past year. Angus: can you give me a bit of detail on where Joaquin is in the mercado?
conejorapido
Not to hijack the thread, but I would be interested to know if anyone in the area has duck eggs.

Enter the mercado through the main entrance (facing Madero), go down the steps and make the first right. His stall is in the right hand corner (S.West). He also sells fine cheeses, eggs, and the best longaniza around here.
sugarplumfaerie
Duck Eggs - I saw them recently at the Mercado in Chapala - at the first place on the right as you walk in from the plaza.
Cincy
Thanks for the lead AngusMactavish. I'll look for Joaquin in the Chapala Mercado this Tuesday and report on my findings.
camillenparadise
Quail eggs take Easter Egg dye exceptionally well. They look like beautiful marble... a bowl of mixed colors is a great centerpiece!
ComputerGuy
Also the woman who sells chicken about three doors to the left of the mercado entrance. Quail eggs always on display.
nolajoe
I bought duck eggs at the Tuesday market last week. First table to the left as you enter from the side parking lot.

Me neither....over our 6 total years here (and yes, I look). From 2008 -2012 they were almost always with the other eggs at Soriana. No more, alast. Bisbee, The only way to purchase them was in a little nylon string bag of 50. 4 were slightly crack but they cooked up fine. I was concerned about freshness but so far they seem fine...
