willtravel
We have a large back patio we would like to have screened in with very fine mesh. It has a roof and 3 sides are enclosed and would like the 4th side to be screened. Any recomendations would be appreciated.
bradshoe
I've purchased replacement screen material from Vi Lu Ma, the glass shop just west of Colon on the mountain side of the carratera. They should be able to handle the whole job.
lakeside7
You will need to have the area framed in aluminum and then screened. Shop around the 3/4 places in Ajijic and Chapels as the the price difference can be significant
RVGRINGO
In a similar situation, we had an ironworker use the sturdy iron screenwork in frames made to fit. Ours were spray painted black and were as good as new ten years later, when we sold. They cannot be cut by burglars, damaged by pets, and can be hosed off or scrubbed with a brush, etc. Loved them! Such screening is sold in the USA as “security screening“.
mkshawn
RV, any chance u can recall the "iron Worker's" name or an approx. location. When u say can not be cut what tool or tools are u using? Tks
RVGRINGO
All I remember is “José from Ajijic“, who was hired by my contractor, Pablo Marquez, of Ajijic. Say Hi, if you find them; probably in the Seiz Esquinas area, up to to the carretera, but below Doña Lola...Interior house on the right (east side). It would take some serious tools to cut. A burglar would need a power tool or a hefty axe, etc. A knife or machete would not cut it.
cedros
As RV says the heavier "pet screen" might be better.
El congrejo
I’ve used Quick Blinds for exactly this. As you know they are in San Antonio a few doors west of Super Lake
tomgates
Tempisique across from the old El Serape can do it, as most iron workers can. Beto is the owner and speaks English.
