Similar stores like Restoration Hardware in Guadalajara?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I'm curious if there is a similar type high end furniture store like Restoration Hardware in Guadalajara? If so, can you tell me the names of any stores like this. Or any other high end furniture stores that you know of?  My favorite type of furniture is the stuff on Restoration Hardware Modern - https://www.rhmodern.com

PS. The only ones I could find online were these below so if you have any other suggestions besides these as I really prefer high quality stuff like from RH and these don't seem comparable:

http://www.karencollignon.com

http://sofishome.com.mx

I've seen mixed posts on various message boards about Mexico. Many say not to bother to ship but I can't seem to find super high end furniture in Guadalajara.

A friend of mine from Canada has been sending me some pictures of modern Mexican designers that are popular in Mexico , they  do exist, I would think that Mexico City has some great modern designers,, it is a question of finding them but they do exist, I have seen them but not in stores. Maybe in Santa Fe.. I would ask in a Mexico city forum. Modern Mexican is in vogue now and it is pretty minimal..

Thanks.  I'll ask around in the Mexico City forum.  Yes, definitely I know modern Mexican (and modern in general) is in vogue.  I just personally like higher end quality furniture as it last a lifetime.  Restoration Hardware stuff is more expensive but all my stuff is really study and well made.  I definitely could probably manage to buy in Mexico City and have it shipped but I'd like to avoid that if it's possible to find something really good in Guadalajara.   I currently live in San Diego.

We all have a different views on high end furniture but would you like something like this?

http://www.kreiss.com/

located on AV.  Pablo Neruda 3024, Providencia 4a. Secc, 44630 Guadalajara, Jal., Mexico

or: http://amparotaylor.com/

Av. México 2795, Vallarta Nte., 44690 Guadalajara

or this: https://www.boconcept.com/es-mx/

or: leather  furniture: http://sulibazzi.com/emodern.n/

Calle Sierra Grande 2463, La Esperanza

I think you should be able to find something you like in Guadalajara. Perhaps not all in the same store.

Happy retirement.

Thanks so much Islander!  Greatly appreciated.  I didn't realize Kreiss had locations outside of the USA. I'll check it out.  I do like many of their pieces.  typically very expensive but great quality.   I did notice Bo Concepts there and I like some of their furniture but much of it is a bit too modern for me.  But I'm sure I can find some pieces there too.

I really like the designs that this Mexico City company produces.  I've seen (and sat on and slept on) the furniture; the quality is excellent.

Thanks More Liana.  I'll check this out as well although I didn't see too much furniture on their website.  Looks like they do a lot of custom made stuff.   I wonder how prices would compare if I just showed them pictures and had them custom make it?  I did this quite a bit in Argentina but the quality wasn't nearly as good as USA.

High end modern furniture  in Mexico is all designer´s made and the prices are high, only the upper classes can afford them so there are no deals to be had..

Go to Mueble expo with an interior designer in August in Guadalajara and take pictures and see if someone can reproduce what you want or si if you find a company you like,,there is a bit of everything there.

There is no store like Restoration Hardware in Mexico. And you have to be more specific, like the RH of 20 years ago with lots of gadgets, housewares, etc or the more recent RH without all the stuff they had 20 years ago and more of a design center, a very expensive one.

If you use Facebook, take a look at their FB page.  Lots more much better looking furniture there.

Hello, I don't know if any of these stores are in Guadalajara (available in Mexico City) but if you are looking for high end, here you go:

Moda in Casa

Roche Bobois

Casa Palacio (not to be mistaken with Palacio de Hierro)

This ones are not as high end but still good to go:

Crate and Barrel Mexico

West Elm Mexico

Pottery Barn México

I've also heard about a store in Guadalajara, but I haven't been:

RDN Mobiliario

I was a neighbor of Georges in Patzcuaro for several years.  He is a talented furniture designer and incorporates copper and woodworking designs that are truly unique.  He also incorporates leather from Italian tanneries. He is a good guy.  Lost touch with him but he had an impressive clientele including the King Ranch and southwest banks.  He and wife Sheri started  in 96 and I was able to help initially with my woodworking skills.  Worth a look if you want something truly great.

I compared his stuff to the crap you get in Santa Fe NM and there is no comparison.
