Mainecoons
Also an important difference between this show and the "come one come all" collections of "artists" that is the usual for art street fairs. This one is by invitation only, all expenses including lodging are covered for the invited artists and you have to be the real thing to be invited. Also the focus is totally on authentic Mexican Folk Art as opposed to imported art forms which have been taken up by Mexicans, for example oil painting on canvas a European import. Because of the way this show is structured you will find very favorable pricing. It is far and away the largest and highest quality of its kind and you would literally have to travel to most of Mexico to be able to buy these arts. Many people from the U.S., Canada and Europe fly in just for this show and the galleries come and buy at wholesale prices and then sell the stuff for two to three times the prices you will pay at this show. It has good food, excellent entertainment and a wonderful view of the lake. If you are new to the area and/or have guests do not miss this show! nothernewbie
Went today and there was some fabulous stuff - too much for one visit so will be going back. Wanted to remind everyone that all the artisans are under cover and you can walk between rows of them down the middle. If it rains you only have to take couple of steps before being under cover again.
