San Juan Cosala Family Needs Your Support

Recommended Posts

A wonderful family needs our support to help the grandmother who is suffering with serious health issues. So, if you're looking for good food, a pleasant afternoon, and a feel good time come on down to the malecon on Sunday afternoon. Operation Feed team members want to help support a wonderful, young volunteer whose family is in need. Josie, selected as the queen of San Juan a year ago ... completed her 1 1/2 year cooking class through ProMexico ... on her way to the technical college's foods program ... has a grandmother in very bad health. She is in excruciating pain and cannot do anything for herself at this point. The doctors say they can operate, but it would cost somewhere between 60,000 and 90,000 pesos. Josie's mom is really stressed trying to take care of her mom. And she has a family of her own to take care of. Her father is in bad shape, too, with diabetes. Right now the grandma needs insulin to get her blood sugar under control before they can even think of operating. So the family is having a fundraiser on the SJC malecon this Sunday, with food, music, raffles, etc. All the food, music, etc. is being donated by their friends and neighbors. The party will be from 2 p.m. to way into the night. Here's a great way to make a very personal difference for a really special family. You can see how Josie's smile brightens up our Operation Feed despensas every Thursday and her pride at receiving her certificate of excellence in culinary arts.
