bournemouth
We need to fill our aljibe and used to use Sr. Gil Aldana but understand he has died. I did call his old landline number but there was no answer. Who are people using these days? We are in Ajijic.
bournemouth
My question has been answered by friends etc. Sr. Aldana's son is carrying on the business and can be reached at cell: 331-343-7556 - 9000 liters 450 pesos. Also Gruas Aguirre in Chapala will deliver 5000 liters for 350 pesos and the driver can be reached at 331 601 7882. When you need water, you NEED water! Osoprehistorico
While there appears to be a cost discrepancy between 5000 and 9000 liters, keep in mind that what is being paid for is the delivery and not the water itself. It is not legal to sell the water per se.
bournemouth
There does indeed - I suppose it depends on the size of your aljibe - but water is water and one is grateful to have it delivered when the aljibe is empty.
Ezzie
Just to clear up a misconception - water is not "free" in Mexico unless you go down to the Lake with a bucket and help yourself. The taking of water and distributing it is regulated by the Comision Nacionale del Agua (CONAGUA), All of the Municipal and private water distribution systems that draw water from wells are required to pay a per cu. mtr. fee to CONAGUA for their water taking concession. All wells must be registered by CONAGUA and are considered as Federal property. There are a number of "illegal" wells though that are not properly registered.
