henrylaxen Posted March 2, 2016 Report Share Posted March 2, 2016 Dear Webboarders, I have a 1997 car which after accumulating 2 stickers a year (registration and emissions) now has a 10cm x 10cm viewport (just kidding.) Anyway, my question is: Is it okay to remove the old stickers? Will transito shake me down? May I remove all stickers prior to 2016? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks. thesarge7 Posted March 2, 2016 Report Share Posted March 2, 2016 I asked a Mexican mechanic about this and he said to that there is no requirement to keep any prior years stickers on your car. He mentioned that you should keep the prior year in case you are stopped by the police and you have some history to show, but it is not demanded and no other real reason. Even the Mexicans will say that they don't know why they do it. I keep only a previous year and removed all the old ones that were there when I bought the car.
