gringal
Open Studios is an annual opportunity to visit an artist in his/her own studio, discuss their process and buy the work you love. This is the fifth year of what has been a very successful event. Over 50 artists are participating this year. The “ticket” is a multi-page brochure showing each artist’s work, his or her location and it includes maps to help you find them. The “tickets” are available for sale starting January 18th, at the Lake Chapala Society’s ticket sales area, Diane Pearl's, Efren Gonzalez Gallery, Ken Gosh (El Gallo Gallery), and from the individual exhibitors at the door on the show dates. Price: 50 pesos each. This year, there will be buses available to tour the outlying studios in San Antonio and Riberas. The ticket admits you to the buses, which will start and end the route at the parking lot at Actinver. Further details in the ticket booklet. Many studios in Ajijic Village itself are with walking distance of each other. LCS is showing the Childrens art as well as the work of some ASA artists on the grounds this year.Sales of the tickets help ASA support the Childrens' Art Program at the Lake Chapala Society. This group offers instruction and the needed materials to all children in the area, free of charge.

gringal
The event is almost here.....this coming Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are selling fast, and although each artist's location will have a few for sale at the door, attendees would be better advised to purchase them from one of the locations listed above ahead of the event so as to be sure to have a catalog with map. This will make it easy to choose the places you want to visit. Besides, it's a beautiful "ticket"/brochure with all the artists' work pictured in the pages. Hope to see you there!
