Hud
Actually, according to the wife, we have stayed once several years ago at the Las Palmas. We found it very overpriced and nothing to write home about. So, we looked for an alternative location and found the "hot sheet" motel on the North end of town, where we have continued to stay for years. Clean, private garage, easy to drive out to eat/shop (just notify the front desk) and return. 400p, and a much better experience than Las Palmas, for us. The decision is yours to make, not ours. Suerte.
Don Cuevas
We've stayed twice at the semi-deluxe Hotel Del Parque, in Centro. It was very pleasant and comfortable, and the restaurant was good, especially the lavish breakfast buffet. (Not included in the rate.) It has a basement parking garage, probably not suitable for RV rigs.
Mr.Chips
We have stayed at all three. Our preference is Las Palmas.Hotel Del Parque is quite nice but is somewhat difficult to get to. The hot sheet is easy to find and very nice but is not in easy walking distance of restaurants.Las Palmas has its own restaurant and there are more choices across the street. You can easily walk to Walmart . Facing the entrance to Las Palmas, the rooms to the left are smaller and cheaper than those to the right. You can get a discount with a CAA card. JerryS
The question was about Las Palmas not the hot sheet hotel.
Hud
The question was about Las Palmas not the hot sheet hotel. YOU are absolutely correct, JerryS !!! Thanks for the "heads up" !!! Without concerned citizens like you, wonder where we would all be headed.
Wookie
We have stayed at the "hot sheet" motel also but the bed is like sleeping on the floor ...literally. However, it is much cleaner than we found Las Palmas to be. If you stay at Las Palmas be sure to ask to see the room ... tell them that you would like a small room with a lesser price ... those rooms are almost as large as their largest ones and are about $20 to $25 less expensive. REC
Stayed at Las Palmas a couple of weeks ago. Hadn't driven in 6+ years and Las Palmas was just the same as the last time we stayed there. We thought about staying at Hotel Del Parque but agree that it is a bit hard to find - even with our GPS. We found it, drove by and wound up going to Las Palmas. The rooms at Las Palmas are certainly nothing to write home about but it works for us. Nice folks, a decent restaurant with lots of options, pretty nice/clean grounds, easy to find and get back on the road. All in all a pretty relaxing experience for us. Not the cheapest option but we know what we are going to get and don't spend a lot of time or effort trying to save a few bucks. On a long drive convenience and consistency is more important to us. Others see that differently. Stayed at the hot sheet motels on one trip years ago. Just not for us but quite a bit cheaper. We wound up eating at the Las Palmas restaurant! Joyfull
BTW, Las Palmas accepts dogs but you need to tell them. They have people watching outside. We tried to get a newer room (on the right) and they called us ### soon as we got to the room. They saw our dogs. We had to change rooms to the older, cheaper one on the left. Still an okay place to stay. Internet in the rooms is pretty much non existent, lobby a bit better.
Mr.Chips
Last March when driving back to NOB, we stayed at Las Palmas and ordered a pizza from Pizza Classics. The pizza was the best we have had in Mexico. It was delivered in about a half an hour. The fellow who showed us our room ordered for us (our Spanish is pretty weak).
