gknippel
I know they're fairly common down here, especially to block sun from the West, but where can I buy one? Needs to be about 6 feet wide and 8 feet long. Gracias!
WideSky
Do a search for 'shade' in the Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara form; part way down you'll find 2 threads - Canvas Awning and Privacy/Shade. You may find some suggestions there, at least where to buy it. As for the rollup part it can likely be made - smaller version of a pool cover roller? or a fixed metal frame as an awning? Al Berca
I had one made at Quick Blinds about 8' x 8' earlier this year for 4000. What a difference. Wish I had bought it years ago. Edit: Sorry, I missed that you wanted outside. Mine are inside and fabric so what you are looking for should be much less expensive.
simpsca
I got mine at Illumina y Decora next to Sunrise restaurant in San Antonio. Reasonable price and immediate delivery. It does the job of filtering the light and heat but you do get a little light.
Al Berca
Same owner. Same product. Same installer. Same choices. Same prices.
Floradude
I have bought them at Walmart in the past but they were smaller. Also, the tianguis on Wednesday (years ago) there was someone who sold the bamboo ones near the carretera & Revolucion.
