Thermographic Breast Screening / Breast Specialists Guadalajara

Recommended Posts

History of Breast Cancer in my family.

I would like recommendations, specifically for:

Guadalajara breast specialists & Thermographic Breast Screening / Ultrasound Screening resources.

FYI: Why a Thermographic Breast Screening? This can detect breast abnormalities 8-10 years before a mammogram. This is a radiation free screening method which will increase chances of detecting breast cancer at an early stage.

PS: I would also welcome company if another woman would desire testing and would be interested in driving in with me to Guad for these tests.

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP!

I would do some further research on Thermographic screening. There was a study done (2012)
by the American Cancer Society showing that it was not as good as a mammo.
I believe also that in the States it is mandatory for Dr's to inform their
patients with dense breasts that a mammo may not show cancer since the dense
tissue and cancer shows white. Tomosynthesis with a mammo/ultrasound would be a
better alternative.

Banuelos in Guad is one of the best facilities for woman, very good Dr.'s - mammo,
tomosynthesis, ultrasound, bone density etc. My GYN of 4 years here (Dr. Iliana Ramos) has always
recommended them above all others. They offer a package price when having several
procedures done. You can request same day results also.

If you want the address, phone number just let me know. It is very easy to get to and
they have parking.

Good Luck

I did the genetic testing about 2 years ago, to rule out that risk... yes... all info helps.

If you have a family history then genetic testing for the breast cancer genes will help you make good decisions.

I heard that as well, for general cancers but better for some others.

I will look into Tomosynthesis, for what runs in my family.

I have heard Banuelos recommended (today) and you are yet another one to give a thumbs up on them.... very good!

Thanks so much for all the info.

I have posted about this before. Ladies, you know your own body. If you have tests and they read negative but you think otherwise, by all means delve deeper. I had tests which came out negative but I knew something was wrong. I kept getting sicker and weaker until I finally had to come back to the US. I had stage II breast cancer!! Listen to your bodies!!

Thanks for that thought.

I ruled out what existed at that point, just two years ago. I did so due to a special family consideration.

That said, I won't be testing for that again. Rather, I am just looking to be responsible, in finding an

excellent (breast) specialist and top notch diagnostic testing.

Many on this board and back in the US receive false negatives on tests. I've known two (US) people personally, which testing and/or the medical community missed on finding their cancer during a cancer screening. Both have since passed.

Genetics is advancing rapidly I think there are over 20 genes related to breast cancer now you might want the results reviewed.

Noting again that Banuelos comes out as recommended, both here and in PM's to me.

Also looking up Tomosynthesis which appears to be higher exposure (like CT scan)

Concerning : http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2013/02/19/tomosynthesis-mammography.aspx

Currently reviewing both ultrasound Thermographic and comparing to Mammos:

(This link was from a thermography site, so still searching for an unbiased web source) )

Thanks again!

I would be very careful when using Mercola as a research source - Quackery seems to be his specialty.

Yes there is a higher percentage but if you do the research you will also see that the benefits outweigh especially for woman over 40. Mammo's are still the best choice, and as I said if you have dense breasts then tomosynthesis is also advised. I have both plus the ultrasound done. You probably would do best to speak to a Dr. to better understand what you should be doing in your particular case. If you do not have a GYN here you may want to speak to Dr. Iliana Ramos - she is in Jocotepec and an excellent Dr. she will be able to guide you. Her office no. is 387-763-2610, email (which is new) ramos_iliana5@hotmail.com - address is Josefa Ortiz De Dguez no. 29 - Jocotepec

Good Luck

I would recommend an ultrasound at the DEI clinic done by Dr. Beatriz at this link http://www.dei.org.mx/nosotros/nuestros-medicos/

I had a very unusual problem and I was sent by my doctor to have only her do the ultrasound. Also had a digital mammogram done there at the same time. She speaks English, and told me what she was seeing and what was on the mammogram. She is a doctor and I asked for her advice which was spot on. It turned out to be a fibro anillo (fibro tissue wrapped in a circle around fatty tissue) and it was very painful. She said it was very rare and had seen very few of these. Several other doctors who looked at the ultrasound agreed with her.

Where is this clinic located?

Were you sent by a Gyn, Breast specialist or GP?

In case anyone's interested, Jocotepec's brand new community hospital is equipped with a 3-D Selenia Dimensions mammography system. Can't attest to staff qualifications for diagnostics. Health services are reportedly provided at no charge to people enrolled in Seguro Popular, and reasonable standard rates to everyone else.

Did you end up choosing thermography?  This seems the safer choice .  Is there a reputable clinic in Guadalajara?

You are asking about a Post that was made 4 years ago so may not get an answer...
