All Day
Has anyone heard if the Chapala office has re-opened? Thanks
moderator-2
You may want to call or email Spencer's office as I think he's watching this situation.
Wait. What?
Is this in the police building? Or did it move? Need to know as my license is up for renewal. Gracias!
Intercasa
Supposedly any day, we are waiting as they are tearing up the street in front of the Guadalajara office and Ocotlan is spotty with licenses so Chapala would be the best bet for people whenever they start. jrm30655
I went Thursday and got mine. My driver took me to Talakapaki (sp?). I have no idea where exactly. There were no signs, no cars, just a gate and an office. In and out in under 20 minutes. There was maybe 5 people there in total. Going to Guad central city is totally out of the question. Half of the streets are blocked with subway construction.
Intercasa
Was yours new or renewal? We have taken people for renewals into Guad but only entrance of Guadalajara and it was quick.
Mainecoons
Spencer I take your post to indicate there is no reopening of the Chapala license office in sight. Is that correct?
jrm30655
Was yours new or renewal? We have taken people for renewals into Guad but only entrance of Guadalajara and it was quick. Mine was renewal. Have no idea if new was being issued or not. I have no idea where this place is. No signs, no cars, nothing. If I had walked past it, I'd have never noticed it. I was there around 11am and was number 48. Walked in, gave my papers to the front desk, sat down for maybe 3 minutes, and was called. There was about 30 chairs there but only 2 people sitting in them. When I left the waiting room was empty also. After that, we went down to the Federal building to see about an INAPAM card. We couldn't get within a block of the place. Spent 20 minutes just going a block so I gave up and came home.
CHILLIN
JRM - was it Tlajomulco de Zuniga? That is between Guadalajara and Chapala but the municipality is triple the population of Lakeside.

I will need to do the same one day.

Nope. We went out toward Tonola then turned toward Guad. My driver said we were in Talakapaki (sp?). but I have no idea just where we were. southland
I lost my wallet a week ago, and the Souriana cameras have the person on video who picked up the wallet (with many of my official papers, licenses, and cards). She did not turn the wallet in to Souriana's. Ministerio Publico is now a week late in producing the letter (after taking down all information needed over a half hour of my time) for me to get the video evidence and to get Souriana's to cooperate to track her down. I've written off the Ministerio Public as not serving the public need. The wallet is in a city dump by now. Anyway, I read this on another thread from Spencer: "You go and request a certification of license for around 40 pesos and then a few weeks later go back to renew the license." QUESTION: How or where does one get this certification of license for a lost license? Do I have to go to Guad twice, once to get the certification and then again a few weeks later to get the re-issue of the MX driver license? Does the re-issue cost money too? I had to get the vehicle circulaciones re-issued and the re-issues cost as much as the original issues. All this because an adult person did not have the decency to turn in the wallet after taking all the money out for herself. The money is not important, but getting the docs all re-applied for is weeks of time and expense.
Kyle
Spencer Are you still taking people to Guad. For renewals? When is your next trip?
Intercasa
Hi, we are taking people for renewals but new licenses are tricky as we need to train people and there are fewer offices. For new licenses we are trying to get groups of 2 to 4 people together but believe it or not retirees have quite full schedules and we havent been able to get 2 to come at the same time for a class. Renewals are easier and we can get you done within a week. As far as the lost license, there will be 2 trips to Guadalajara, maybe one if they will accept a power of attorney so we can do it for you to report the lost license and get the certification.
