Shaw Satellite Problem

I have just returned to Lakeside from Canada to find that I can't get a satellite signal on my Shaw PVR.

I spent about an hour on a call with Shaw's tech support but they weren't able to solve the problem. They offered to send a technician out until I reminded them I was in Mexico! They feel that my dish might have shifted and have given me the coordinates which don't mean a thing to me.

Does anyone know someone who can reposition the dish at a reasonable cost?

We use Jose Anguiano - phone 376-765-4577. Cell 331-071-9900. He is very familiar with Shaw Direct set up.

I'm sorry to hear the bad news. I could tell you to check your connectors and all kinds of minor things at both the satellite dish and the satellite receiver. but I bet you have done that. The good news is that Shaw Tech Support was willing to help you knowing you were a snowbird visiting a site outside of Canada. Last May, apparently the CRTC had tightened down on them and Shaw Tech Support would not let them help anyone outside of Canada. In May, I phoned from Seattle and not my cottage on Vancouver Island. I was told they couldn't help me because I was outside the country and threatened to de-authorize the receiver I was asking about. Luckily it was an older unit that I don't use anymore.
