ichbinsaege
I am currently hearing the unmistakable sound of the rainbirds! In Centro Chapala I am also seeing a huge lack of the swallows (? those little birds that mess all over everything) that are normally nesting on the overhead wires along Hidalgo. Usually by late March there are hundreds of them. I've seen about 40 of them on a small section nearest the pole, not in their normal spots. I'm thankful they aren't in droves creating havoc on my balcony, but is it unusual for it to be mid-April and they aren't around?
Wookie
I don't know about the swallows, however, I am sitting in West Ajijic and hearing the "rainbirds" also. Wouldn't it be great for the lake if it actually started raining early this year!
Joco
I heard a chorus of rain birds yesterday morning with their calls coming from the Joco mountains. It would be wonderful if the rains started a few weeks early.

ajijicis4me
I live in West Ajijic and have not heard any. If 6 weeks goes by, it still won't be raining. I can't remember it raining much before June 10.

bmh
Funny how memory works when you have no point of reference or statistics in front of you, Obviously Gilligan remembers because it was a specific day for him/her. Have you ever compared childhood memories with someone you have not seen for 50 years...scary what a different person remembers about the same events or which events each person recollects-
