slumdog
I'm going to post this again, because it mysteriously disappeared. This place is owned/operated by Perry March's Mexican wife. I can't remember the name, but I've been meaning to go for some time. I was very disappointed. Two of us dropped in for breakfast. The drinks menu is larger than the food menu, but that's ok. They had a large selection of teas, but only Lago black, yech. Overall, the choices were fairly boring. Would have been less boring, but for the prices: $65 pesos for a bagel and two eggs? So we left and hit 60's In Paradise, and for $35 pesos, I had two eggs, two bacon, two toasts, and hash browns. Tea, either black or iced, was extra, but bottomless. the walkers
we've known carmen for years before she ever had anything to do with perry. she was one of the first to offer whole grain muffins and breads. she's a hard working single mom and must be paying a pretty penny for the rent on the restaurant. she is the closest place for breakfast for the el parque ,cielo vista, and el dorado developments. perhaps you chose to go elsewhere, but why post a negative article on her business? she also has dylan barker, nephew of peter (secret garden) working for her. stop by and say "hi", she's a sweet person besides being the prettiest baker in town. maggilu
Carmen's prices may be on the high side, but her food is delicious and she has the most original menu around.

LaChula
Yes, it's Cafe Negra people are writing about. Cafe NegrO stopped making expresso coffee some time ago, so I stopped going there, but Carmen makes a mean pastry!
ericurmudgeon
I have eaten here two or three times and while the prices are a bit above some of the other breakfast places the quality of the food, the service, and the items on the menu make up for it. I don't mind paying for quality, presentation and variety.
Doolittle
Yes, it's Cafe Negra people are writing about. I'm terribly sorry about the error. But not half as sorry as the previous posters should be who nattered on without mentioning the name at all!
slumdog
but why post a negative article on her business? This board lives on opinions, that's why. I tried it, I was massively disappointed, thought I'd let everyone known why. I don't see how someone's work ethic or desire to make a living has anything to do with the quality and prices of their food. If that was true, most restaurants would probably succeed... but most don't. And if she's paying too much for rent, that's not our problem. The fact is, the prices for her offerings are out of line for me. And to the poster who says she has the most original menu in town... I'm sorry, I have to laugh. Bagel and two eggs? Right. tomgates
I enjoy the tacos at the little place near the Mayan Spa on the lake side of the highway. They put the stand up each morning and take it down mid-afternoon most days, not usually on Wednesday's.
