luvsdawgs Posted June 3 Report Posted June 3 My Kindle's battery needs to be replaced. Does anyone know someplace down here which can do it? TIA Quote
NEWMtnMama Posted June 3 Report Posted June 3 Ruben at computer land replaced my Kindle battery a couple of years ago. Might check with him. Quote
Mainecoons Posted June 3 Report Posted June 3 There are videos on line of how to do it once you have the battery. Pretty easy really. Batteries available from Amazon Mexico. I found a video on how to replace but when I post the link this site bounces the post. Just Google "replace Kindle battery" and you'll find it easy. 2 1 Quote

TIA You may already know, but just in case.... before you spend money on battery change. Amazon is restricting some books so that older Kindle models can't download them any more. ( If the darn things last too long, we can get you from the other end 🤔 ?) Mine is safe, but you might want to look into that first.......... 1 1 Quote

So for both of you AND others.... if your kindle was issued 2012 or earlier, money spent on a new battery would, IMO, be money badly spent. Of course, I read at least 6 books or more a week ( never less than 300 pages) but some may read a lot less. Good luck to both 2 Quote
Alpha1 Posted June 6 Report Posted June 6 I finally purchased a new Kindle paperwhite in May, 2024 (11th generation) since my old Kindle Aug, 2010 (third generation) would not accept some books. The higher contrast screen was a bonus. Quote
Voir dire Posted June 6 Report Posted June 6 I use https://annas-archive.gl/ for books and download them, for free, to my tablet or laptop. Stopped using Kindle many years ago. Working very well for me as I too, read a lot of books per week. 1 Quote

RickS Posted June 7 Report Posted June 7 You can read 'Kindle' on just about anything.... including a TV. My eyes just prefer the 'ink' of a kindle. Too glary on anything else for me. Quote
