Am I the only one or are some pill bottles almost impossible to open? Dear husband and I spent almost 5 minutes trying to open a pill bottle. After he literally broke the cap, the cover on the bottle was so thick I couldn't even cut it with a scissors. I have some arthritis in my hands but not usually that bad. Is this really necessary?

You can thank the 1982 Tylenol poisoning murder case in Chicago for the pill bottles that are impossible to open. A hacksaw would probably cut the plastic so you can move the pills to a different bottle.

I always tell the pharmacy I do not want child proof lids. Works for me.

I like the CVS dual lid. Ask them, to put it on the easy way at the Pharmacy and you are good to go. If not, remove it the hard way once and then put it on the other way.

Guess all of you are buying your meds abroad.

We don´t have that problem in Mexico as the medicine is in boxes with blister packs inside.

SOME of the medicine comes in blister pack. The bottle I am talking about is an herbal supplement made in Mexico.

That may work NOB but all of our meds are pre-packaged in Mexico.  We do not have the option to ask for "child proof lids".  AND, where are you finding a CVS location near us?  NOPE!

You can change containers, if you had some in the first place.  Remarking them shouldn't be too hard.

An herbal supliment is not medicine by definition.

Suggestions for MtnMama

1.  If you buy this stuff locally ask a store employee to open before you leave.

2.  If you buy on line, ask a younger n'bor with stronger hands to do it for you´....OR seek out another brand option with similar ingredients.

Actually about half our medicines come in bottles. I have a plastic lid opener that usually works and I buy many meds at Similares because their bottles are easier to open.
