Hi, we are coming to Guadalajara soon and then moving on to Lake Chapala, Ajijic.  Would love to know of any places where it might be possible to purchase some organic produce, fresh fruits, vegetables, greens, also millet, oats, and seeds (sunflower, pumpkin, sesame)

Any of the above!

Thank you!

Frances (and David)

There are several organic markets weekly and otherwise some stores sell at least some of the things you asked about...  Ask around when you arrive.

Thanks, Rick!  We eat all our meals from our own kitchen, and that's why I try to learn where to go in advance of our arrival.  Plus, we are traveling by bus. So, not your average consumers here.

IMHO the absolute freshest produce is found at the Tuesday Farmer's Market. Some is organic and all is the freshest I've found. There is also a booth that sells seeds, nuts, spices and other goodies. Plus booths with organic meats, fish and dairy products. And much more.

Be warned I live across the street from the Tuesday market but never go. Gringo prices to the max! Almost like I never left the USA.

The Tuesday market is very strict about what is really organic. Fresh Market, on the other hand, gets most if not all of their stuff from Costco. Truly organic costs more and always has.
